I am delighted to welcome Sashi Abeysekera as Associate Editor. She brings to the organization a fresh perspective, enthusiasm and vigor and we look forward to many informative newsletters from her.

The new year started with a bang under the leadership of our new President Arune Seneviratne. He has many plans to invigorate the organization, encourage growth with new membership and include networking events for members. SLMANA meetings are being held both in New Jersey and Manhattan in an effort to accommodate members from all areas. We warmly welcome all our new members!

We all watched in horror as the events of Easter Sunday unfolded in Sri Lanka leaving immeasurable damage not only in physical and economic terms but in the psyche of a people.

In this issue we highlight SLMANA events and news as well as pertinent news items from Sri Lanka. As always we welcome any articles, opinions etc from our membership and readers.
