Artificial limbs and Rehabilitation provided by the Center for Handicapped [CFH] Kundasale, Sri Lanka

This center is located in the central province of Sri Lanka close to Kandy. The mission of this center is to enable persons who are physically handicapped irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity or social status to lead near normal lives. These individuals are from various walks of life and represent various parts of the country.

The Center for Handicapped is aiming for excellence in the provision of artificial limbs and rehabilitation services.

The objective of this project was to provide 14 artificial limbs to disabled individuals.

Cost of the project: $ 2566.00

Payments: Bank draft for $ 2566 sent on 8/29/12 and received on 8/30/12

Results of the project:

14 artificial limbs were provided to 11 individuals. Among them, 3 people received 2 artificial limbs each. The other 8 received a single artificial limb each. Their ages ranged fro 3 years to 67 years. Among the causes of loss of limbs were land mines, bomb blasts, trap gun, congenital, wound and diabetes.
